Whether appreciating a spectacular sunset or showing off your latest vacation spot, you know a picture says more than words when it comes to sharing on social media. The Weather Channel® agrees, and you can now share photos within The Weather Channel App on smartphones and tablets directly to Facebook Messenger and more.
“Weather is one of the biggest factors when taking a photo to share on Facebook or with your friends. Half the fun of taking a picture is sharing it, even bragging a little, and we’re happy to encourage that within The Weather Channel app,” said Nikki Santoro, vice president of product and design at The Weather Channel. “Our new feature helps tell your story through the lens of weather, and showing the world that It’s Amazing Out There.”
You can take a photo with an overlay of the current weather conditions in the location where the photo was taken. This adds a new level of richness and fun to tell your own weather story, and it’s available in more than 40 languages. Add a personal note and share it via email, text, and other methods, including directly through Facebook Messenger.
The Weather Channel worked with the Messenger Team at Facebook, which certainly knows how to help people express themselves with friends and family. As announced Wednesday, Messenger Platform is a new way for app developers to integrate with Messenger - bringing the ability to add even more forms of expression and rich media to conversations.
