The Weather Company has named Jeremy Hlavacek its new vice president, programmatic, overseeing all of Weather’s programmatic sales efforts and operations – a new role at the company. Hlavacek is transitioning from his current role as vice president of operations and strategic partnerships on the WeatherFX team at The Weather Company. In his new role, he will report to Jeremy Steinberg, senior vice president, digital ad sales, at Weather.
The reason behind the move: Programmatic is becoming more and more important to the company, so Weather wanted Jeremy to come in and lead the team, grow the business and expand presence in the space. With his experience, the company sees a huge opportunity to excel in the programmatic space. He is ideally suited for this role, with more than 13 years of experience at web startups, leading global ad agencies and large media companies. He joined Weather earlier this year from Varick Media Management, where he was vice president of strategy and business operations and was responsible for strategic partnerships in the ad tech/real-time bidding ecosystem, as well as the business and financial operations of the company. While at Varick, Jeremy signed partnership deals with dozens of ad tech companies, achieving triple digit growth in the company's net revenue and a doubling of the staff.
Jeremy Steinberg said: “Programmatic buying is already a rapidly growing revenue channel for The Weather Company, and we know under Jeremy's leadership of our programmatic efforts, we’ll see even more impressive growth.”
